Doing the work of the Lord
Coming together to worship and learn more about God is only part of the reason for attending Church. At Faith Baptist Church, we believe that being an effective Christian means actively serving God by carrying out the will of the Father. Jesus made a similar statement in the book of Matthew:
For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. [Mat 12:50Mat 12:50

This can involve a number of different activities, otherwise known as ministries. In short, this involves putting the needs of others before your own, just like Jesus did.

To explain this in a little more detail it is useful to consider the apostle Paul’s comments in the book of Ephesians.
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [Eph 4:11-12Eph 4:11-12

Essentially there are different roles within a church which different members will be more suited to depending on the gifts God has given them (see Romans 12 for more detail). By doing our different roles within the Church we can all work together like different parts of the body to carry out the will of the father; to encourage each other, to teach more about God and to spread the good news of the gospel.
Our Church Ministries
At Faith Baptist Church, we have a number of different church ministries aimed at meeting the needs of other people in the Church and in the area of Rockingham. Some of our ministries include:
- Helping children to learn about God and Jesus Christ during Sunday School.
- Supporting like-minded Missionaries to spread the gospel around the world.
- Singing and playing music as part of worship and praise of God.
- Past preaching from the restricted gathering time due to COVID-19
There are other church ministries focused on reaching out to the community of Rockingham and the surrounding areas or aimed at ministering to specific groups of people (e.g. Ladies Meetings).
